AppLock - Fingerprint adds an extra layer of privacy where a simple screen lock falls short. It shields individual apps from prying eyes, covering both built-in tools like messages and incoming calls, and popular third-party services. You can even guard your gallery and control app-specific settings such as brightness and rotation to keep your setup consistent and discreet.

Security options are flexible: choose from PINs, patterns, and gesture locks, and assign different credentials per app if you want tighter control. Pattern size can scale far beyond the usual grid, up to 18 by 18, which makes guessing far harder. If your device has a compatible sensor, fingerprint unlock is supported for quicker access. New apps can be secured automatically as soon as they are installed, and a random password button option can shuffle keypad inputs to deter shoulder surfers.

Automation and remote management go further than most app lockers. You can remotely lock or unlock via SMS, schedule app access for specific times, or set trusted WiFi and Bluetooth connections that automatically unlock selected apps. A clever cover mode can display a fake error prompt or a look-alike lock screen so it appears as if the app malfunctioned, buying you privacy when someone else tries to open it.

Protection is backed by practical safeguards. The app can auto-start after a reboot, limit repeated unlock attempts, take a photo of intruders and email the snapshot, and let you reset forgotten passwords. It also keeps RAM usage low and can back up and restore your list of protected apps, which is handy when switching devices or after a reset.

There are compromises. The fingerprint option can be unreliable on some hardware, notifications may still preview content for locked apps, and the app is reportedly easy to uninstall if not otherwise secured. Occasional crashes or lags may also occur. Even so, for securing sensitive apps like banking or private chats, it offers a robust, feature-rich toolkit.
