Physics based tank battles with strategy, loot and multiplayer modes

Hills of Steel is a free to play action shooter from Superplus Games that turns rolling hills into scrappy battlegrounds. You pilot a customizable tank across ever tougher fronts, collecting loot from downed foes to improve armor, weapons, and special gear. The campaign pushes you from rugged terrain to a sci fi finale on the Moon, with quick encounters that feed an irresistible one more run rhythm.

Beneath its friendly presentation sits a game that rewards patience and smart positioning. There is no timer forcing risky rushes, so the best approach is to study what you are facing. Machine gun tanks are dangerous only up close, so spacing and angles matter. Mortar and rocket crews punish careless pushes with heavy damage, which turns hills into cover and momentum into a weapon. Climb the ranks toward General by picking your battles rather than bulldozing through them.

Progression centers on eight unlockable tanks and a steady stream of upgrades and special weapons. The physics are intentionally springy, giving each vehicle a bouncy, almost toy like weight that makes cresting slopes, absorbing recoil, and lining up shots feel playful yet precise. When you want a change of pace, several modes keep the action fresh: one on one PvP, team skirmishes, an adventure path of escalating fights, and a classic survival option.

The main irritation is the economy. Coins and diamonds come in small amounts, so enhancing your favorite machine can take time. That grind can slow your momentum between breakthroughs.

Even with that caveat, Hills of Steel nails an addictive loop. Simple controls, tactical enemy variety, and physics driven movement create a high replay value, and the mix of solo progression with competitive and cooperative matches makes it easy to keep coming back for one more hill. Fans of armored shootouts should find plenty to enjoy.
