Escape with no weapons in a tense first person haunt

Eyes - The Haunt strips horror down to the chase. You stalk through a rambling building, opening doors, uncovering new rooms, and scooping up scattered items while something unseen closes in. There are no guns or melee swings here, only the instinct to turn heel when danger approaches. That simple premise gives the game a sharper identity than yet another corridor shooter, and it makes every creak feel like a warning.

The early minutes can be bewildering. Prompts tell you to run, yet if you are not facing the threat you might mistake a shaking box for the menace itself. That confusion is part of the tension, but it also means it takes time to understand what is happening. Once it clicks, the cat and mouse loop is effective. A standout mechanic lets you briefly look through the creature’s eyes, giving you a snapshot of its location so you can plan your next move. It is a rarely used twist in first-person horror, and it works.

Visually, this is a mixed bag. Textures and models are basic, though careful lighting keeps most rooms dim rather than pitch black, which feels fair and heightens mood without cheap tricks. Ambient outdoor noises add a layer of unease, even if the soundscape is not especially rich. Ads are present but do a decent job of staying out of your way, and the game is free to play.

Expect some rough edges. The sparse story offers little context, and simply catching sight of the monster can end a run too quickly. Still, if you want a short, spooky thrill built on evasion and smart use of enemy-eye vision, Eyes - The Haunt delivers a tense and memorable diversion.
