UPI payments automation and multi account control

DakPay UPI by IPPB is a free finance tool built for everyday payments and account management across India. Developed by India Post Payments Bank, which operates under the Department of Posts, it brings key UPI functions together so you can send money, review balances, and keep multiple bank accounts organized in one place.

Transfers are flexible. You can move funds using account number and IFSC, a Virtual Payment Address, or by scanning a QR code. The app asks for camera and storage permissions so you can scan and save QR codes, and it also requires location services in line with NPCI requirements. If you often pay the same people or businesses, the standout feature is scheduling. You can create a recurring mandate by choosing an amount, setting start and end dates, picking a frequency, and specifying the recipient. There is room to add a note or alert the payee as well, which makes recurring bills or subscriptions much easier to manage.

Beyond payments, DakPay lets you view transaction history and store beneficiaries, which helps reduce data entry over time. The ability to add and manage multiple bank accounts makes it a practical hub if you juggle finances across different banks.

The experience is not without drawbacks. Registration can be frustrating due to frequent session timeouts, and the app can crash. Some users also report cases where a completed transfer does not immediately reflect on the recipient side, which can be worrying. Customer support has been described as unresponsive, so resolving such issues may take patience.

If you value consolidated UPI features and automated payments, DakPay UPI by IPPB offers the essentials. Just be prepared for potential hiccups during sign up and use, and consider keeping alternative payment options handy in case a transaction needs a second attempt.
