Fun twist on classic puzzlers: Tetris and Sudoku

Block puzzles meet Sudoku on a calming wooden board

Woodoku blends the logic of a Sudoku grid with tactile block placement to create a relaxed, score-chasing puzzler. Developed by Tripledot Studios, it trades numbers for wooden shapes and removes time pressure, inviting you to plan at your own pace while you inch your score upward.

The board is a familiar 9x9 layout divided into 3x3 areas. You receive three randomly shaped pieces at a time, place them anywhere on the grid, then draw a new trio only after all three are set. Points come from completing full rows, columns, or 3x3 boxes. When those sections are filled, they clear away, opening space for future placements. It is a simple loop that rewards foresight: leave breathing room for awkward shapes, line up future clears, and you will squeeze more turns out of the increasingly crowded board. The best moments arrive when a single piece tidies multiple lines and subgrids at once.

Beyond the core mode, a daily gem challenge adds a light objective by asking you to claim bejeweled blocks. There is also a tutorial that you can revisit if you want a refresher on fundamentals or strategies. The presentation leans into calm, with clean visuals and pleasing sound effects that make each placement feel satisfying. Ads are part of the package, but you can play offline, which keeps the experience available wherever you are.

Woodoku is easy to pick up and soothing to play, making it a solid choice for quick breaks or unwinding sessions. That said, variety is limited, since there are no other modes beyond the daily challenge and the main score run. If you crave a sprawling set of options, you may find the feature set sparse. If you want a focused, low-stress puzzle that gradually sharpens your spatial planning, this wooden twist on Sudoku hits the spot.
