The app leverages the AccessibilityService API to analyze what is on the screen, identify interactive controls, and trigger them in response to what you say. That behind-the-scenes mapping is what enables commands like dialing a number, choosing a list entry, or activating a button.

Voice Access Unreleased ships with a straightforward tutorial to get you speaking the right commands from the start. If you ever lose track of what is possible, say Help to view available options. You can also launch it via a voice phrase to your assistant, pause it by saying stop listening, or fully switch it off in settings when you do not need it.

There are trade-offs to consider. As with many voice-first tools, accuracy can vary because of accent, volume, or other speech factors, and you may need to repeat certain commands. The on-screen command prompt also occupies a large portion of the display, which can crowd other apps and reduce usable space. Still, if you want robust voice commands for navigation, screen control, dictation, and light editing, this early release offers a capable foundation aimed at more accessible, hands-free use.
