Relive Season 3 with co-op action retro puzzles and boss fights

Stranger Things 3: The Game is a faithful companion piece that lets you step through the key moments of the show’s third season while sprinkling in original side quests. The whole package is wrapped in a chunky pixel art style that leans into 80s nostalgia, with familiar Hawkins landmarks and plenty of era nods for fans to spot.

Structured as a light action RPG, the campaign sends you across town on quest chains that juggle simple puzzles, collectible hunting, and periodic boss encounters from the Upside Down. Combat and controls are intentionally straightforward, making it easy to swap between characters and trigger abilities without fuss. That accessibility is a strength for newcomers, though genre veterans may find the fighting a bit basic over time.

You gradually assemble a roster of 12 playable heroes from the series. You start with Mike and Lucas, switching between them to clear obstacles, then unlock heavy hitters like Eleven, problem solvers like Dustin, and stalwarts such as Hopper and Joyce. Each character brings a distinct move or support skill, and you can equip found items to power up the party. The real spark comes from teamwork: local co-op lets up to three players combine abilities for flashy combo attacks and quicker crowd control. Solo players are covered with buddy commands that let you direct partners during exploration and fights.

Once the credits roll, Eliminator mode dials up the tension by granting access to the full cast at the start, then enforcing permanent death for any character that falls. It is a smart way to revisit the story with higher stakes.

There are trade-offs. The adventure is on the short side, some areas feel unevenly crafted, and many interior spaces blend together. It also mirrors the plot closely, so expect spoilers if you have not finished the season. Still, for fans eager for extra time in Hawkins, this is a charming, if modest, return trip.
