Dash with Sonic and swap heroes on the fly
Sonic Dash 2: Sonic Boom brings back high speed lane based running with the Sonic Boom cast. As you sprint through never ending tracks, you scoop up rings, premium stars, and power orbs while vaulting hazards and sliding under enemies.
The sequel's hook is its team play. You can set Tails, Knuckles, Amy, or Sticks as your lead or support, then trigger a mid run character switch to suit what the course throws at you. Each hero carries a distinct ability, which spices up routes without changing the core rhythm.
Another twist comes from elf companions. These little helpers add perks like bigger payouts or a safety net that pulls you back from a mistake. They pair nicely with the emphasis on collection: orbs feed ability activations, and your haul funds upgrades and additional characters. Short objectives, such as grab a set number of rings or jump a certain amount of times, layer on bonus rewards and keep runs goal focused.
Modes and layouts will feel familiar, and you can play offline. Connect and the game rolls out time limited events that hand out richer prizes, making it worth checking in when they appear.
Controls deserve praise, with swipes that respond cleanly, even when older devices show slowdown. Visually it leans hard on the first game's look and even repeats some stretches, yet the added areas and occasional aerial sections provide some pop.
If you enjoyed the original, this follow up sticks to what worked while adding friendly assists and more ways to chase rewards. Optional payments exist, but skill and persistence let you progress without opening your wallet.
