The execution, however, does not always match the ambition. Video playback is a common pain point, with many clips and streams failing to start. The widget can be unreliable too, and opening the app through it may lead to lengthy loading before the home view appears. Advertising presence is heavy, which further disrupts the flow when you are trying to catch up quickly.

There is a lot to like here if you value comprehensive stats, live updates, and team centric browsing. For fans who prioritize dependable video, the current experience can disappoint. With fixes to playback and widget behavior, MLB App could be a standout companion throughout the season.
