Lara Croft: Relic Run takes the familiar three-lane runner formula and injects it with blockbuster energy. You are still dodging pits, spikes, and low branches, but the constant stream of set pieces and stunts gives each run a sense of adventure that suits the franchise.

Controls are instantly readable: swipe left or right to change lanes, up to jump, down to slide. Miss a cue and Lara rag-dolls into oblivion, at which point you can restart or spend in-game currency to keep a high-score attempt alive. What keeps the rhythm from going stale is how the game sprinkles in surprises. One moment you are weaving through jungle ruins, the next you are blasting at oversized lizards, skidding away from a lunging T-Rex, or tearing along on a quad bike. These sequences pop up unpredictably, reshuffling the pace so a long run rarely feels identical to the last.

Relic Run also adds clever traversal that expands on standard endless runner movement. Wall runs briefly create extra space to maneuver, and vine routes let Lara dash along vertical surfaces in the same three-lane pattern, effectively tipping the track on its side. Little flourishes like swinging from branches and vaulting over debris help the action feel more athletic and authentic to the character.

The presentation is a highlight. The Aztec-styled environments are richly detailed and the animations are highly expressive. That detail comes with trade-offs. The screen can feel busy, and the safest lane is not always obvious at a glance, such as when foliage masks a clear path. The visual ambition can also put pressure on older hardware.

It may not escape its genre roots, but Relic Run earns its place with sheer variety and polish. If you enjoy score-chasing runners and want a dose of Lara’s acrobatics and spectacle, this is an energetic and engaging choice, provided your device can handle the intricacy.
