Om Nom returns with clever rope tricks and playful science
Cut the Rope: Experiments GOLD brings back everything people loved about feeding candy to Om Nom, then spices it up with inventive tools and a playful lab theme. The goal is familiar, slice ropes at the right moment so sweets swing, float and bounce into Om Nom’s mouth. The toy box of gadgets expands beyond scissors with bubbles and air blowers, plus fresh ideas like rope shooters and suction cups that open up new puzzle routes and timing tests.
A bespectacled Professor oversees your trials, chiming in with encouragement when you nail a solution and a teasing remark when you miss. This running commentary is more than flavor, it nudges you toward better tactics and keeps the pace lively without getting in the way.
There is plenty to chew on across 125 levels, presented as experiments split into five vibrant worlds. Artwork is colorful and cheerful, and the clean layout makes planning your cuts easy to read. The difficulty curve leans friendly, so most players will cruise through a large chunk of the campaign, but the variety of contraptions keeps the moment-to-moment problem solving engaging. For added goals, there are achievements to unlock and a light side mystery, collecting photo scraps that piece together the Professor’s backstory.
Fans will also appreciate extra touches. Om Nom cartoons are playable inside the game, offering cute interludes, and three Superpowers are available at no cost if you want a helping hand on thorny stages. They provide a safety net, though purists may prefer to ignore them to preserve the puzzle bite.
It is an appealing, pick-up-and-play package with tight, simple controls and plenty of charm. The adventure is a bit short overall, but as a compact, colorful burst of rope-cutting ingenuity, Experiments GOLD is easy to recommend.
