Camera Pro - Remote Control for Samsung Watch aims to turn your Samsung wearable into a capable companion for the phone’s camera. Built by SmartWatch Studios as a paid app, it links select Galaxy phones with compatible Galaxy and Gear watches, giving you wrist level control over photos and videos and a live preview on the watch screen.
The control set is impressively complete. On the watch, you get dedicated buttons to take a photo or start and stop video, quick toggles to flip between front and rear cameras, and an option to turn the flash on or off. The rotating bezel pulls double duty, letting you adjust zoom or tweak brightness without touching the phone. Focusing is handled with a simple tap on the watch display. A compact settings menu rounds things out with white balance choices, HDR toggling, and a few extra tweaks, all geared toward making the native Samsung Camera app more flexible when the phone is out of reach.
There are important caveats. Compatibility is limited to specific phone and watch models, so not every Samsung pairing will work. More troubling are the performance issues reported in daily use. The live image mirrored to the watch is low resolution, which makes fine framing tough, and the app has a tendency to crash on launch or lock up during video recording. Those stability problems cut into the convenience it promises.
As a concept, it is exactly the kind of utility many Samsung watch owners want, with thoughtful controls and meaningful camera settings on the wrist. In practice, the rough edges and unreliability make it hard to recommend at its price. If your devices are on the supported list and you can live with a low detail preview and occasional hiccups, it can serve in a pinch. Otherwise, it is worth waiting for updates that address the crashes and freezes.
