From Dodgeball Frenzy and Oil Slick to a classic Fireball, the mix encourages experimentation and enables turnarounds when you are trailing. Controls are flexible, and third-party gamepad support is a welcome touch for players who prefer physical buttons. Local competition is available as split-screen for up to four players on supported TV hardware or via screen casting, which makes the party angle appealing. The catch is that this mode sits behind a paywall, so couch co-op requires an additional purchase.

There is another caveat. Stability issues crop up too often, with crashes that can abruptly end progress. It undercuts the otherwise cheerful, chaotic racing vibe and may frustrate completionists chasing perfect runs.
