You are free to roam a large map dotted with seven airports and a wide spread of landmarks, then jump into objectives that kick off from clearly marked points, easily found using a handy minimap.

The mission variety is the standout. Early challenges cover passenger transfers, runway departures and landings, banner towing for advertising, and classic A-to-B flights. It then escalates to carrier landings, a presidential escort in an F-18, emergency water touchdowns, post-accident assistance, and surprise malfunctions like gear or engine failures. It is a thoughtful blend that nudges you to practice different procedures without feeling repetitive.

Presentation leans into authenticity. The world uses high resolution scenery with 3D buildings, busy runways, and visible air traffic, stitched together with lakes, rivers, cities, small towns, farms, ruins, and even more unusual sites like nuclear plants and temples. A full day-night cycle, weather changes, and fully volumetric 3D clouds give flights a convincing atmosphere. Inside the cockpit, interactive controls, multiple camera views, clear map data, and dynamic lighting and audio help sell the simulation. Flight physics, turbulence effects, and crash smoke reinforce the sense of weight and risk.

There are a few drawbacks. With 20 free stages, the core set of missions can be finished quickly, and the experience would benefit from more levels. The altimeter tops out at 1000, which can break immersion for altitude management. You can also step into cars and helicopters, but car driving is limited by the absence of a steering wheel control and camera angle options.

For aspiring pilots and curious players alike, this is a capable, approachable flight playground with meaningful objectives and an engrossing world, even if its campaign length and a few interface quirks leave you wanting more.
